This issue of the journal features a diverse collection of research articles, including the following contributions. A review article from Taiwan summarizes the current status of the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of mpox, along with a proposal for surveillance through the One Health approach. A study from Shanghai examines the relationship between ego depletion and health promotion behaviors in elderly individuals with diabetes. Authors from Japan analyze national data, including an investigation into the efficacy of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for gastric cancer patients based on the Nationwide Gastric Cancer Registry, as well as a study on the benefits of short-term antimicrobial treatment for pneumonia and aspiration pneumonia in patients aged 65 and older, using the Nationwide Inpatient Database. Additionally, the first national survey evaluating psychological support for people with hemophilia and HIV who suffer from cancer is presented. Considerations on the toxicity and lethal doses of over-the-counter drugs, the analysis of ingredients prone to abuse, and the development of a database to prevent overdose are also discussed. Furthermore, an investigation into the clinical potential of SAG-524, a novel HBV RNA destabilizer with a unique mechanism of action, is included, along with a report on the global applications of HBcrAg assays in managing chronic hepatitis B. Finally, a report on trends among foreigners undergoing complete medical examinations in Japan in the post-COVID-19 era, based on a single-center analysis of inbound medical care, is presented.
